ATTENTION ALL SERIOUS JR. DANCE STUDENTS:
We are NOT a school
based on competition; however, it is healthy to expand performance
opportunities to those students who are ready for the challenge of
competition. On Saturday,
August 14, students 9-12 will have a chance to audition for our junior
dance company, THE JUNIOR MIXERS!
This group will compete in at least one local competition &
one convention (weekend trip)
and perform along side our resident senior dance company, IN THE MIX at
various community events throughout the year.
The requirements are as follows:
1.
Students need to be currently enrolled in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, &
Lyrical classes. This can

Students need to be between the ages of 9-12.
3.
This is for serious and committed dance students only.
4.
Students must be able to make Saturday morning rehearsals from
9-10AM, and Sunday
.
For anyone
interested, a student/parent
meeting will be held on Friday, August 6 at 6:30PM to discuss
requirements and expectations for the 2010-11 season.
AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 14 @ 11:00AM @
DYNAMIX. Dancers should
arrive at least 20 minutes prior to register and properly warm-up (a
quick 15 minute warm-up will be given promptly at 11AM).
There will be a $100 audition/registration fee due upon
registration. This fee
will go toward the cost of running auditions (teacher/judges time,
choreography, photos, etc.) & is non-refundable.
Dance attire will be basic black:
black leotard, black
footless or convertible tights, opt. skirt, jazz pants, or capris may be
worn. (No shirts or shorts
please; you will be asked to take them off!)
It is your choice to audition with or without shoes, however, no
dance sneakers, please.
Contestants will be
taught everything they need to know that day.

*It is still too early in the
season to know all dates & times of events. A tentative
rehearsal schedule for the first half of the year will be given
out on the parent meeting on Aug. 6 @ 6:30PM.
If you know of any known conflicts, please notify Dana
ASAP so we may try to accommodate everyone.
All
rehearsals are mandatory, within means, & once the schedule is
in writing, there will be no exceptions.
