ATTENTION ALL SERIOUS DANCE STUDENTS:

We are NOT a school based on competition; however, it is healthy to expand performance opportunities to those students who are ready for the challenge of competition.  On Saturday, August 7 @ 11AM, students 13 & up (& dancing at an intermediate to advanced level) will have a chance to audition for our dance company, IN THE MIX.  This group will compete in at least three competitions, one convention (weekend trip), & travel to NYC to take class with professionals.  The group will also perform in various events in the community throughout the year.  The requirements are as follows:

1.  Students need to be currently enrolled in all 5 technique classes:  Ballet, Tap, Jazz/Lyrical,

            Modern Dance, & Hip-Hop.  Students need to be registered before August 7, 2010 (and

            not that day) in order to audition.

2.  Students need to be between the ages of 13-18.

3.  Students need to be dancing at an intermediate to advanced level.

4.  This is for serious and committed dance students only. 

5.  Students must be able to make Saturday morning rehearsals from 8-10:30AM, and Sunday

            rehearsals from 6:00-8:30PM (alternating weekly) & tentative events.

For anyone interested, a student/parent meeting will be held on Friday, July 30 at 6:30PM to discuss requirements and expectations for the 2010-11 season.  AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 7 AT 11:00AM @ DYNAMIX.  Dancers should arrive at least 20 minutes prior to register and properly warm-up (no warm-up will be given).  There will be a $100 audition/registration fee due upon registration.  This fee will go toward the cost of running auditions (teacher/judges time, choreography, photos, etc.) & is non-refundable.  Dance attire will be basic black:

black leotard, black footless or convertible tights, opt. skirt, jazz pants, or capris may be worn.  (No shirts or shorts please; you will be asked to take them off!)  It is your choice to audition with or without shoes, however, no dance sneakers, please.

No choreography needs to be prepared.  Contestants will be taught everything they need to know that day.  For more information, contact Dana.
